Server Types & Performance
Yes, absolutely – if done right. The price-performance ratio is excellent. We ensure stable operation through caching (Redis/Varnish) and optimization, even on budget hardware, compensating for platform fluctuations via software.
We manage both. With VPS you share CPU/RAM with others ('Shared'). With VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) the resources belong to you. We recommend VDS for databases and critical apps. We advise on 'right-sizing' so you don't spend unnecessarily.
This is a classic problem with Shared VPS ('Noisy Neighbors'). Our monitoring watches CPU Steal Time. If it's persistently high, we escalate to Contabo support or migrate your server (via snapshot/migration) to a less loaded host.
Yes. These servers have enormous storage for little money. We often configure them as backup servers (e.g., with MinIO or BorgBackup) for your entire infrastructure. We ensure data security and encryption.

Yes. The Object Storage is fully S3-compatible. We integrate it into your websites (for images/uploads) or as a cheap target for your backups. We configure lifecycle rules and access permissions (ACLs).
Contabo offers a 'Private Networking' feature in certain locations. We set this up so your web servers and databases communicate over an internal, fast network without traffic going over the public internet.
Yes. If you need a special operating system or hardened distribution, we upload the ISO via the Customer Control Panel, install it via VNC and then take over management.
Security & Backup
No! Snapshots are local. If the storage system in the data center fails, the snapshot is gone too. We set up real offsite backups – e.g., to another provider or Object Storage. Only this way are you safe from data loss.
Contabo servers often come 'open' to the network. We immediately install a firewall (ufw/nftables), change the SSH port, forbid root login and set up Fail2Ban to block brute-force attacks.
Yes, basic protection. For websites we often recommend putting Cloudflare in front. We handle DNS and WAF configuration so malicious traffic never reaches your VPS.
Software & Panels
Yes. Contabo sells cheap licenses for Plesk/cPanel. We handle panel patch management, PHP settings and security. We solve problems when updates get stuck or mail queues are full.
Yes. Docker runs excellently on Contabo VPS. We install Docker Engine, set up Docker Compose and ensure automatic container restarts after reboot.
No. We specialize in Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky). We don't support Windows VPS as we cannot guarantee our high automation quality standards there.
Support & Process
Contabo support often takes hours or until the next day. We are your 'First Responder'. We immediately check: Is it the OS? Can we restart the service? If it's a hardware defect, we create qualified tickets with Contabo support to speed up the process.
No. It's enough if you give us root credentials (SSH). For administrative tasks in the panel (e.g., setting rDNS, VNC console) we can collaborate temporarily or you follow our instructions.
Yes. We migrate your websites, databases and emails to the new Contabo server. We minimize downtime and handle the DNS changeover.
You pay the hardware directly to Contabo (very cheap). You pay us a monthly service fee for operations and monitoring. You maintain full cost transparency.
