High-performance Root Servers from Nuremberg – professionally operated by us. We manage your Netcup infrastructure, from VPS to Cloud vLAN cluster.
Netcup offers dedicated CPU performance at rock-bottom prices with "Root Servers" (RS series). This is ideal for databases and critical apps. But without professional management, the bargain becomes a risk. We know the Server Control Panel (SCP) inside and out. We configure your Cloud vLANs, manage snapshots and optimize the Linux kernel for Netcup's KVM virtualization.
We don't treat every server the same. On VPS we monitor 'Steal Time'. On Root Servers we tune CPU performance for maximum database performance.
We connect your servers via Netcup's private network (vLAN). Databases communicate securely and quickly internally.
We don't rely only on SCP snapshots. We set up real, encrypted offsite backups.
What you get for your monthly flat rate.
Security updates for Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky. Kernel updates in coordinated maintenance windows.
Configuration of private networks (eth1) for secure internal communication.
Key-only login, Fail2Ban, no root password. Netcup images often come open.
VNC console and rescue system for cases when SSH is no longer reachable.
Encrypted backups to S3, Hetzner or Wasabi. Snapshots alone are not a backup!
Docker Engine, Compose and custom ISO images via FTP upload and VNC installation.
Netcup delivers the hardware power, we deliver enterprise stability.
Root Servers (RS) with guaranteed CPU performance. No noisy neighbors.
Switching to managed operations is this easy.
We check current state (RS/VPS, security, backups)
SSH keys, firewall, SCP access for emergencies
Installation of our monitoring agents
Ongoing support at a fixed price

Everything about Root Servers, VPS, SCP and Cloud vLAN

We manage both. But the difference matters: With VPS you share CPU performance. With Root Servers (RS series) Netcup guarantees dedicated CPU cores. We recommend RS for production environments and databases. We advise on 'right-sizing' so you book the right performance.
Yes. Netcup is known for extremely cheap promotional servers. Even if they cost little, important services often run on them. We fully take over these servers into our management and monitoring – hardware costs don't matter for our service.
Yes. We monitor utilization. When storage runs low, we coordinate the upgrade in the CCP (Customer Control Panel) and expand the file system (resize) during operation, without data loss.
Yes. The SCP is our tool for reboots, DVD mounts (for rescue systems) and VNC access. We need a technical user or temporary access to intervene in emergencies (when SSH doesn't work).
Yes. Netcup allows uploading custom ISOs via FTP. If you need a special operating system (e.g., hardened Alpine or special Debian), we upload the image, install it via VNC console and take over operations.
Yes, excellently. Since Netcup uses KVM virtualization, Docker (and Docker Compose) runs very performantly. We install the engine, set up log rotation and ensure your containers automatically start after a server restart.
Cloud vLAN connects your servers in a private network. We configure the network cards (eth1) so your web servers and databases communicate internally. This increases security and saves bandwidth.
Yes. For high availability (HA) we use failover IPs. We script the routing so the IP can be switched to a standby server in case of failure (e.g., with Keepalived).
Netcup has a solid basic filter. For web applications we additionally configure local firewalls (nftables) or put Cloudflare in front to fend off Layer 7 attacks.
No. Snapshots are not backups. They're on the same storage cluster. If storage fails, data and snapshots are gone. We set up offsite backups (e.g., to Hetzner, AWS S3 or Wasabi) that are physically separate and encrypted.
Netcup images often come with password login. We immediately switch to SSH key-only, disable root login via password and set up Fail2Ban to stop brute-force attacks.
Security updates ('Unattended Upgrades') we install automatically promptly. Kernel updates or critical system changes requiring a reboot we plan with you in maintenance windows.
Yes. Netcup is often a cost-effective alternative. We migrate your data (websites, databases, emails) with minimal downtime to the new Netcup servers.
We support all standard images: Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux. We advise against 'web hosting panel' images and prefer clean minimal installations.
No. The Customer Control Panel (CCP) contains your invoices and domains. We primarily need access to the SCP (Server Control Panel) or just SSH root access. Billing data is none of our business.
Our monitoring checks your servers every minute. We respond to outages according to SLA (business days or 24/7). Since we have direct knowledge of Netcup's technical specifics, we can quickly identify hardware problems and submit qualified tickets.
No. Our focus is on server management (Root Server & VPS). We can't deeply manage 'Managed Web Hosting' (where you don't have root access) since we can't configure system services there.
