Duration depends on your infrastructure complexity. Small setups can be migrated in 1-2 weeks. Complex environments with LKE and multiple NodeBalancers need 3-6 weeks.
Linode LKE is replaced with K3s, Nomad or Docker Swarm on Hetzner. K3s is a lightweight Kubernetes distribution that is perfect for Hetzner. For simpler setups we recommend Coolify as PaaS.
Linode (~$20/month for 4GB) is now part of Akamai. Hetzner offers ~39% lower prices (~€11), 5x more traffic (20TB vs 4TB), German company for GDPR compliance, and no risk of enterprise price increases.
