Answers to the most important questions
Duration depends on your infrastructure complexity. Small setups can be migrated in 1-2 weeks. Complex environments with multiple databases and vRack configurations need 3-6 weeks.
OVH vRack enables private networks between servers. At Hetzner this is replaced by Private Networks – same functionality, but without additional costs and with simpler configuration.
A migration can make sense when data location, pricing structure, portability or a differently operated target system better fits the workload. We compare the current OVH plan with a sized Hetzner target architecture.
SecNumCloud and other assurance reports each apply to a defined provider, service and audit scope. We map regulatory requirements against the current evidence, contracts, data locations and technical measures of the specific target architecture.
OVH Object Storage is migrated to Hetzner Object Storage (both S3-compatible). With rclone or s3cmd, data can be seamlessly synchronized. Usually an endpoint change in your application is sufficient.
For suitable workloads, OVH Logs Data Platform can be replaced by Prometheus, Grafana and Loki. Data storage, retention, availability and operating effort are designed around the specific requirements.
Port speed, included traffic and overage differ by product and location. We compare the current target plans with the measured throughput and traffic profile.
OVH offers a broader global footprint; Hetzner includes selectable German and Finnish locations. Suitability depends on user locations, latency, resilience and privacy requirements.
