Successful backup jobs do not prove that recovery works. WZ-IT reviews your Proxmox and PBS configuration, restores an agreed system in isolation and documents the recovery point, duration, findings and required actions.
The test combines a configuration review with a practical recovery. It shows whether backups, keys, permissions, target capacity and restart procedures work together across the intended path.
Jobs, retention, verification, pruning, encryption and relevant PBS settings are checked against the agreed recovery path.
One selected VM or container is restored to an isolated target and technically checked for startup and data access.
You receive measured times, the achieved recovery point, findings, priorities and concrete next actions.
The standard test is deliberately limited to one clear recovery path and one representative system. This provides useful evidence without uncontrolled changes to production.
We assess the Proxmox environment, PBS datastore, backup jobs, retention and intended recovery scenario.
Job status, schedules, pruning, garbage collection, verification, encryption and notifications are checked.
Together we choose a representative system, suitable backup snapshot and clear validation criteria.
The selected VM or container is restored to agreed test capacity without a production failover.
Startup, file system, selected services and agreed data points are checked.
Recovery point, measured duration, deviations, risks and prioritised actions are recorded.
Clear boundary
Production remains operational. The test system, validation criteria and abort points are agreed before the restore begins.
System, backup snapshot, target, data volume and validation criteria are clearly defined.
WZ-IT assesses the relevant Proxmox and PBS path, including retention, verification and key access.
The agreed system is restored in isolation and checked against the defined technical criteria.
You receive the test record, measurements, findings and a prioritised recommendation for securing the backup chain.
Clearly defined packages
Both packages combine a configuration review with an actual restore. Before commissioning, we confirm the system, data volume and available test capacity.
Restore Assurance Standard
€1,490
excluding VAT, one-off
For one representative recovery scenario in a Proxmox and PBS environment.
Restore Assurance Plus
€2,490
excluding VAT, one-off
For an extended review covering primary and off-site recovery paths.
Suitable isolated target capacity is agreed in advance. If WZ-IT supplies additional test or transfer infrastructure, it is itemised separately. Measured restore times provide a reliable test baseline, not a blanket SLA commitment.
The test record remains useful without any follow-up order. If required, WZ-IT implements the prioritised actions and takes responsibility for backup, monitoring and Proxmox operations.
Build PBS, off-site copies, retention, verification and encryption around the environment.

Tell us the approximate Proxmox scope, PBS design and one representative system. We confirm the package, target and required capacity before commissioning.
Scope, production impact, target capacity and evidence
We review the relevant Proxmox and PBS configuration, select a backup snapshot, restore one agreed VM or container in isolation and check startup, file system and agreed services or data points. Measurements and findings are documented.
The standard test runs without production failover on an isolated target. Test network, target capacity and abort points are agreed in advance. If the environment cannot support a safe isolated restore, we identify that before execution.
Standard covers one Proxmox environment, one PBS datastore and one VM or container with up to 500 GB of used data. Plus adds an external recovery path, a granular restore and up to 1 TB in total.
Existing suitable target capacity can be used. Additional infrastructure, large transfers or temporary storage supplied by WZ-IT are itemised before commissioning so that the fixed price for the test remains transparent.
No. We document the achieved recovery point and measured test duration and compare them with your objectives in the Plus package. A binding SLA requires a correspondingly designed overall architecture and recurring tests.
The failure is documented as a finding with its cause or the required next investigation. Small test-only corrections may be agreed during the work; material changes to backup, storage, network or applications receive a transparent separate scope.
Yes. WZ-IT can include PBS, off-site backups, monitoring, updates and recurring recovery tests in Managed Proxmox. Scope, response times and test intervals are agreed according to criticality.
