What is an AI opportunity assessment?

An AI opportunity assessment determines whether a concrete process is best supported by AI, fixed rules or conventional automation. It considers the workflow, data, systems, error impact and necessary human controls together.

How much does an AI opportunity assessment cost?

The AI Opportunity Check costs from €3,900 excl. VAT for one business process. It includes the workshop, the data and system review and the written decision brief. Additional processes, on-site visits and legal advice are not included.

How long does the AI Opportunity Check take?

Usually one to two weeks once sample data and contacts are available. The clock starts as soon as the process and the people involved are confirmed.

Why does the assessment cover only one workflow?

A clear boundary allows a reliable technical and commercial assessment. If several workflows are involved, we first prioritise the strongest candidate or agree an expanded scope. For several processes and a shared target architecture, there is the AI architecture assessment.

Do we already need structured data or APIs?

No. Missing structure or interfaces can, however, affect the achievable level of automation and the effort required. The assessment makes these prerequisites visible.

Can the result be that AI is not needed?

Yes. If fixed rules, a form or a conventional workflow solve the task more reliably, that is documented. The objective is the right implementation path, not the use of a particular model.

How does an AI opportunity assessment differ from an AI strategy?

An AI strategy or roadmap orders many possible use cases, responsibilities and budgets across several areas. The opportunity check deliberately goes deep into a single workflow until there is an actionable pilot decision.

What happens after the AI opportunity assessment?

You receive a decision brief with pilot scope, prerequisites and budget range. You then decide whether and with whom to run the pilot. If a workflow is already clear, a pilot can also start without a prior check; existing results are reused after review.

Defined scope for one process. The decision brief with pilot scope and budget range remains usable without a follow-on engagement.

Delivery starts once agreed data, access and stakeholders are available. The binding scope and price are defined in your proposal. Hardware, hosting, model consumption, licences and ongoing operations are quoted separately. Follow-on projects are costed against reusable results. We credit the pilot price when you commission the production rollout; there is no requirement to purchase every stage.

All prices are net and exclude statutory VAT. The offers are addressed to businesses.

The knowledge from many years in the solar industry lived in the head of our former managing director, and it still lives in the heads of our employees today. The system runs in our own environment, and the data stays with us. What surprised us was how efficient it was: WZ-IT used existing open-source software and extended it specifically for our requirements, instead of selling an expensive custom build from scratch, as is often usual with IT service providers. Timo and Robin understood our actual problem, preserving knowledge during the generational handover, and implemented it step by step: from the proof of concept through setup and validation with our own data to productive operation, explaining everything clearly along the way. Next, we want to extend this to the knowledge of our employees, so that this does not depend on individual people either.
