About the Technology
Web search through a controlled intermediary
SearXNG
SearXNG aggregates results from external search engines rather than operating a complete web index. Queries are still sent to the activated sources.
We configure engines, rate limiting, proxy, image proxying, Redis or Valkey, logging and access for the intended use.
A private instance does not make queries invisible
The own platform reduces direct user attribution and central profiling but can send queries to external search services. We document data flows and enabled engines.
Public instances require rate limits, abuse protection and capacity boundaries; internal instances should be limited to defined access paths.
Operations beyond installation
Operate SearXNG as a controlled metasearch service
A private interface reduces tracking but does not create a private web index; engines, rate limits and outbound queries remain part of the design.
