Starting point

What tax firms must consider with AI services

Notices, client mail and research keep growing. §62a StBerG sets out which service may see client data.

  • §62a StBerG and Section 203 StGB

An AI service may only see client data if it is bound in text form, together with all further parties.

  • Consent or redaction

For open AI services the BStBK advises consent or anonymisation. Both cost time on every task.

  • Peaks in filing season

Notices and queries arrive in batches, and checking them ties up qualified staff.

  • Skilled staff are scarce

Client mail and research grow while new qualified staff are hard to find.

Use cases

AI in the tax firm: notices, mail, expert knowledge

The AI delivers drafts and sources. Review and approval stay with you.

Check assessment notices

Today

Notices are compared with the return line by line.

With the AI platform

Upload the scan and the return; the AI lists differences and notes with page numbers. The tax advisor decides on any objection.

Answer client enquiries

Today

Questions about documents and dates are worded from scratch every time.

With the AI platform

An assistant drafts replies from your circulars and checklists in the firm's tone. Review and sending stay with the firm.

Search the firm handbook and BMF letters

Today

Work instructions, BMF letters and earlier opinions are searched for in file shares.

With the AI platform

Questions to approved knowledge bases, every answer with a source. The uploaded version is authoritative; you switch on web search only when needed.

What it looks like

The platform in your team's daily work

Open WebUI in the browser, with models operated in Germany by German providers. Stops from your work, plus web search and your own knowledge base.

Full walkthrough
  1. 01Read notices

Scan a notice, see differences to the return

Upload the scanned notice and the return. Text recognition reads the scan and the AI lists differences and notes for review.

    • Text recognition
    • Vision
    • Dictation
    • Read aloud
  2. 02Firm knowledge

Expert questions to the handbook and BMF letters

Store BMF letters, the firm handbook and checklists in knowledge bases. Every answer cites its source; the uploaded version is authoritative.

    • Sources
    • Reranking
    • Access per group
  3. 03Client mail

Draft replies in your firm's tone

Set the instructions, model and client circulars once. The team picks the assistant and gets drafts to check before sending.

    • Assistants
    • Prompt library
    • Templates
  4. 04Web search

Check the basic allowance and BMF letters on the web

New figures, BMF letters and deadlines often appear on the web first. Web search provides them with sources; commentaries and case law stay in your specialist database.

    • Web search
    • Attach web page
    • Can be disabled per group
  5. 05Create a knowledge base

Your own documents as a knowledge base, called up with # in the chat

Create a knowledge base, upload files, sync whole folders or add web pages and text. In the chat, a # brings in the collection and the answer cites its source.

    • Collections
    • Folder sync
    • Access per group

Reviews & projects

What clients say about working with us

From local AI integration to architecture, data sovereignty and ongoing operations.

WZ-IT moved our studio infrastructure from decentralised individual devices to a central platform: every site is securely connected via VPN, new devices are onboarded automatically and an entire site is provisioned from a template, without manual steps on location. What impressed me most is the breadth and depth of their knowledge: Timo and Robin are not a typical IT provider who sets up a server and leaves. The two of them think their way into highly complex infrastructure and software topics, work through every requirement we put in front of them, and build networking, provisioning and operations so that everything fits together in the end. WZ-IT is an excellent partner for complex software, network and architecture projects.
