Document platform
DocuSeal, PostgreSQL and configuration are provisioned reproducibly and updated through a controlled process.
We implement and operate DocuSeal for controlled document and signing workflows - including database, document storage, email delivery, API integration, backups and documented operating processes.
The following are trademarks of their respective owners: DocuSeal (DocuSeal, Inc.). WZ-IT is an independent service provider and has no business, partnership, or contractual relationship with these companies. We offer independent migration, installation, hosting, and operations services.
DocuSeal provides PDF forms, multiple participants, signature fields and automated invitations through a web interface. Templates can be reused and workflows can be connected to existing applications through the API and webhooks.
WZ-IT designs the application, PostgreSQL, document storage, SMTP, TLS, access protection, monitoring and recovery as one operating architecture. The evidence, identity checks and type of signature required for a specific workflow must be assessed separately by the responsible business and legal teams.
The publicly available DocuSeal code is licensed under AGPLv3 with additional terms. The vendor lists roles, SSO/SAML, white labelling, automated reminders, SMS verification, bulk sending and embedded forms as Pro features that require the appropriate licence.
Before implementation, we therefore verify the edition, licence requirements, existing templates, document volume and integrations. We plan the migration of current documents and workflows around the export, API and data access actually available, including a test run and rollback path.
Production signing workflows combine the application, database, document storage, email delivery, access model and integrations. We operate these components together while separating technical services from business and legal decisions.
DocuSeal, PostgreSQL and configuration are provisioned reproducibly and updated through a controlled process.
Forms, participants, invitation order and status events are implemented to match the business process.
API, webhooks, SMTP and optional embedded Pro capabilities are connected to existing applications in a controlled way.
Monitoring, updates, database and document backups plus restore tests protect the technical platform.
We separate platform operations, document workflows and legal assessment transparently.
| Area | Responsibility | Scope and boundaries |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture and provisioning | WZ-IT | DocuSeal, PostgreSQL, document storage, TLS, reverse proxy, SMTP and reproducible deployment. |
| Runtime and updates | WZ-IT | Maintenance of the agreed instance with release assessment, backup and controlled updates. |
| Monitoring and backups | WZ-IT | Monitoring and consistent protection of database, documents, configuration and agreed secrets. |
| Templates and signing workflows | Shared | WZ-IT implements fields and technical flows; the customer confirms documents, participants, order and business rules. |
| Edition and integrations | Shared | We verify technical requirements; the customer procures required Pro licences and approves target systems and access. |
| Legal suitability and retention | Customer | Required signature type, identity verification, consent, evidential value and retention rules remain subject to business and legal assessment. |
| Custom workflows and embedding | Optional WZ-IT service | Business application integration, middleware, embedded forms and data migration are specified as a separate project module. |
Prepare PDF templates in a visual interface using signature, text, date, selection, file and other documented field types.
Assign fields to individual participants and send invitations sequentially or in parallel according to the workflow.
Store documents locally or in a supported object store, with capacity, retention, backup and recovery designed around actual volume.
Deliver invitations and completion messages through controlled email infrastructure while monitoring deliverability, sender domains and failure handling.
Start signature requests from business applications and process status events through the documented API and webhooks; embedded capabilities require a Pro licence depending on scope.
Monitor containers, PostgreSQL, storage and email delivery, test updates in a controlled process, and back up and restore the database and documents together.
A clearly defined operating scope instead of an opaque hosting flat fee.
Compute, applications, storage and response are shown separately. You can see what ongoing operations include and which requirements need a technical assessment.
We also design custom DocuSeal architectures, integrations and migrations. Contact us for a technical assessment.
One managed standard DocuSeal application is included in the Starter workload. Every service level also includes flexible expert time for planned work during regular service hours. Select compute, additional applications, storage and the appropriate service level.
A workload is one compute instance with the applications agreed for it.
One standard app per workload is already included. Additional dedicated servers count as separate workloads.
€79.90 per started TB and month, including daily encrypted offsite backup with 7-day retention.
Document size, participant count, parallel processing, template reuse and retention determine CPU, memory, database and storage requirements.
| Usage scenario | Technical starting point | Key factors |
|---|---|---|
| Small internal workflows with moderate document volume | S or M, PostgreSQL | A suitable starting point for small files, few concurrent processes and local storage. |
| Regular signing processes across several teams | M or L, PostgreSQL, separate document storage | Document size, participants, email volume and retention are assessed in advance. |
| API or embedded usage with traffic peaks | L or custom sizing | Concurrency, upload sizes, webhooks, Pro licensing and connected systems shape the target design. |
| Business-critical or particularly large document repositories | Custom architecture | Storage, database, recovery objectives, redundancy and legal requirements are assessed separately. |
Template creation, data migration, custom API workflows, Pro licences and legal assessment are not included in the generic workload price.
DocuSeal can run as a managed workload or in a customer environment. Edition, licence and required Pro capabilities are verified in advance.
Dedicated workload with agreed compute, document storage, backup, monitoring and service level.
Operation in the customer's account with existing email, storage and network services integrated.
Integration with customer servers, virtualisation, directory, email and backup infrastructure.
Access and integrations over defined private links, NetBird or VPN when the workflow should not be publicly reachable.
DocuSeal processes documents and information from multiple participants. Access, storage, email delivery, events and recovery are therefore designed together.
Administrators, template owners, external signers plus API and embedded clients.
TLS, reverse proxy, network rules, SMTP and optional private administrative access.
Local user management; roles and SSO/SAML can be implemented with the required Pro licence.
PDF templates, form fields, participants, invitations, status and signed documents.
The vendor-recommended database for production API and embedded workloads, storing configuration and process data.
Local or supported object storage with capacity, retention and protection aligned to the use case.
Controlled data flows to business applications, automation and email infrastructure.
Before production launch, we document data paths, edition, backup scope, permissions and recovery. The technical platform does not replace an assessment of the required signature form.
Answers about licensing, Pro capabilities, signature types, storage, migration and operations.
The publicly available DocuSeal code is released under AGPLv3 with additional terms. The official repository and linked licence texts are authoritative. WZ-IT is an independent provider of installation, integration and operations.
The vendor lists roles, SSO/SAML, white labelling, automated reminders, SMS verification, bulk sending, conditional fields and embedded forms as Pro capabilities. We verify the required scope and current licence before implementation.
No. DocuSeal provides technical capabilities for completing and electronically signing documents. The required signature form, identity checks and evidence for a specific workflow must be assessed against the use case and applicable law.
DocuSeal supports local storage and documented cloud or object storage services. We select storage according to volume, data paths, retention and recovery objectives and document the actual storage location.
Yes, where available exports, APIs or data access make this possible. We inventory templates, fields, participants, states, documents and integrations and plan test migration, acceptance, cutover and rollback.
The database, document storage, relevant configuration and secrets must be protected consistently. We automate backup and test recovery for the agreed setup.
Yes. The official documentation describes an API and webhooks; embedded forms and builders are part of the Pro scope depending on the function. We define authentication, events, error handling and licensing before integration.
Whether you run DocuSeal in-house or need to host confidentiality-professional data §203-ready - we build, operate and maintain DocuSeal on an encrypted on-site server. Data never leaves the building in cleartext.

“WZ-IT's advice on our Azure migration was technically sound and completely non-binding right from the intro call - we took away a great deal.”
Whether a specific IT challenge or just an idea - we look forward to the exchange. In a brief conversation, we'll evaluate together if and how your project fits with WZ-IT.
