Proxmox VE 9.2 vs VMware: Is It Time for SMEs to Switch?
Proxmox VE 9.2 has been available since May 21, 2026. On paper, it is a minor release. In practice, it matters much more for many...
Orphaned environment, provider switch or a grown setup nobody wants to touch? Health check, documentation, operational takeover - structured and without operational risk.
The following are trademarks of their respective owners: Proxmox VE (Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH). WZ-IT is an independent service provider and has no business, partnership, or contractual relationship with these companies. We offer independent migration, installation, hosting, and operations services.
Proxmox runs stably - until the person who understands it is missing. These are the three situations in which companies come to us.
The person who built the cluster has left the company - and with them the knowledge. Access, quirks and configuration are only partially known.
Your current IT provider responds slowly, has become too expensive or no longer fits technically. You want to switch - without operational risk during the transition.
The setup „just always ran“ - but updates were postponed, backups never tested, and nobody dares touch anything. Every change is a risk.
Three steps - from first access to accountable operations. Without any period in which nobody is responsible.
Structured assessment: versions, storage (ZFS/Ceph), cluster status, backups, network, security baseline and open risks - with a prioritized action list.
Fix critical issues: overdue updates, untested backups, missing redundancy. In parallel, complete handover-ready documentation is created.
Onboarding to our monitoring (Zabbix HA), defined maintenance windows, fixed response times - your cluster now runs in accountable hands.
After the takeover, your environment runs under managed operations: 24/7 monitoring via our Zabbix cluster, updates, backup verification and fixed response times - transparent from €179.90 per node per month.

Yes - that is the normal case. The health check is built exactly for this: we systematically capture the current state (configuration, storage, network, backups, access) and create the documentation that has been missing. You only need to provide us access.
The takeover starts with a fixed-price health check, depending on the size of the environment (number of nodes, storage complexity). Afterwards, operations run as Managed Proxmox from €179.90 per node per month - so you know exactly what to expect in advance.
The health check takes a few days depending on the environment. The stabilization phase depends on the findings - typically two to four weeks until full operational takeover. Critical issues (e.g. untested backups) are addressed immediately.
From the moment your environment is onboarded to our monitoring, we respond to incidents - including during the stabilization phase. The takeover is structured so that there is no period in which nobody feels responsible.
Yes. On request, we coordinate the handover directly with your current provider - professionally and without finger-pointing. If cooperation is not possible, we reconstruct the state from the running environment.
No. We take over operations where your environment runs today - on-site, in your data center or on dedicated servers. If the health check shows hardware needs, we plan renewal or migration together and transparently.
Good choice - we'll help you get started or with operations.

No risk: worst case, you leave with a clearer understanding of your project than before.

“WZ-IT's advice on our Azure migration was technically sound and completely non-binding right from the intro call - we took away a great deal.”
Whether a specific IT challenge or just an idea - we look forward to the exchange. In a brief conversation, we'll evaluate together if and how your project fits with WZ-IT.
