For clearly scoped work on an existing cluster: a Ceph expansion, a storage or networking question, a backup check, or analysis after a failed update. Billed by actual effort.
Companies worldwide trust WZ-IT
Your task is handled by someone who also carries responsibility for these systems in production. If the assessment shows that a single intervention will not solve the problem, we say so before work starts.
You describe what needs doing. We tell you what it is likely to cost before we start.
€120 net per hour in 6-minute increments. No package minimum, no contract commitment.
What was done, what stood out and what remains open - in writing, even for a single engagement.
Scope is agreed before work starts. The following are the standard cases; anything outside them is assessed up front.
Review configuration, add or replace nodes, trace quorum and HA behaviour.
Expand pools and OSDs, assess utilisation and recovery behaviour, isolate bottlenecks.
Check the PBS configuration, trace backups and perform a test restore.
Review and adjust bridges, VLANs, firewall and management access.
Assess update levels, analyse a failed update and define a controlled path forward.
Review a planned change or an existing design before it is implemented.
A clear service boundary
Each step is completed before the next begins. Scope, effort range and fee agreement are in writing before work starts.
System, starting position and desired outcome in your own words. Access is discussed later.
We say whether the task makes sense as a single engagement and give an effort range before any work begins.
Scope and rate are set out in a written fee agreement. Work then proceeds within the agreed frame; effort beyond it is agreed beforehand.
A written result with findings and open points, billed by actual effort.
Billing
Billing is based on actual effort in 6-minute increments. Regular service hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Outside these hours the higher rate applies.
Support billed by time
€120
net, per hour
For clearly scoped tasks without an ongoing contract.
Within regular service hours €120 net per hour in 6-minute increments, outside them €240 net per started hour. We bill actual effort, not an estimated package. Once demand becomes regular, an operations contract with a defined scope and agreed response costs less than individual hours. Work is carried out on the basis of a written fee agreement. Regular service hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
All prices are net and exclude statutory VAT. The offers are addressed to businesses.
Work billed by time is the entry point. Once the same need recurs, an agreed operating scope is more predictable and cheaper overall.

Billing, boundaries and the move to an operations contract.
Within regular service hours €120 net per hour, billed in 6-minute increments. Outside regular service hours €240 net per started hour. There is no day rate and no package minimum. Regular service hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
No. We bill actual effort in 6-minute increments. Before starting we give an effort range for the described task.
Work billed by time carries no guaranteed response time. A binding response comes with a service level in an operations contract. We usually reply to enquiries within one business day.
Once the same need recurs. Managed Proxmox starts at €179.90 net per node and month and includes monitoring, updates, backup verification and an agreed response - work that quickly costs more as individual hours.
Yes. Additional work and incident effort outside the agreed operating scope is billed at the same rate.
For scoped tasks, yes. Ongoing responsibility requires an inventory first - that is what the Linux server audit, or the matching check for the platform in question, is for.
No risk: worst case, you leave with a clearer understanding of your project than before.

“WZ-IT's advice on our Azure migration was technically sound and completely non-binding right from the intro call - we took away a great deal.”
