What is managed Kubernetes hosting?

At WZ-IT you get a Kubernetes cluster including infrastructure in a data centre in Germany, together with its operation: control plane, add-ons, upgrades, backups with restore test, hardening and monitoring. Applications and databases in the workloads are not part of the operation.

Where does the cluster run?

In Germany, in an ISO 27001 certified data centre without US clouds. We operate with a German provider whose data centres are BSI C5 attested.

What does managed Kubernetes hosting in Germany cost?

The price is made up of three building blocks: operations from €590 excl. VAT per cluster and month including 3 worker nodes (every additional node €129.90), cluster base from €129.90 and worker nodes (S from €64.90, M from €119.90, L from €179.90 per node). A cluster with three Worker S costs from €914.60 excl. VAT per month. As of October 2026.

How is the service level calculated?

Essential is included. Business (€99.90), Priority (€199.90), Production (€349.90) and Critical (€549.90) are added excl. VAT per month. The tier includes the first worker node, and every additional node costs the tier's surcharge: €29.90, €39.90, €49.90 and €59.90 respectively. The control plane does not count. Monitoring runs 24/7, the response to P1 incidents follows the service level; details are on the service levels page. As of October 2026.

Which Kubernetes distribution is used?

What availability applies to hosted clusters?

Workloads hosted by us carry a standard availability of 99.9 % per month. High availability, redundancy, recovery objectives and disaster recovery depend on the architecture and are agreed separately. Details are on the service levels page.

How long does the contract run?

The hosting can be cancelled monthly, with 30 days' notice to the end of the month.

Hosting at WZ-IT or operations on your own infrastructure?

Operations cost the same in both cases. With hosting, WZ-IT additionally provides the infrastructure in Germany. On your own infrastructure (Proxmox, bare metal, EU cloud, EKS, AKS), infrastructure and provider contract stay with you: Managed Kubernetes.
