Grafana is great — up to a point
For pure monitoring dashboards we run Grafana ourselves and recommend it regularly. But as soon as your needs go beyond "show me values" — trigger actions directly from the dashboard, customer-specific branding, drill-down into a tenant hierarchy, versioned reports — a custom solution pays off.
Rule of thumb: if you find yourself loading more plugins, iframe wrappers, and workarounds than out-of-the-box UI, it is time for a custom layer.

We use a modern web stack (React/Next.js frontend, Node or Go backend) and pick the database and streaming components to match your volume. We define the concrete stack in the workshop — it must fit your volume, your hosting, and your team's skill profile.
In typical industrial and IoT setups we comfortably handle high six- to seven-figure values per second ingest, multi-year history, and sub-second queries. For truly extreme volumes we evaluate specialized storage engines — that architectural decision is made jointly in the workshop.
