It includes 24/7 proactive monitoring, regular PVE, kernel, and package updates, CVE and advisory monitoring, backup management, immutable operations logs, documentation, and incident response according to the agreed service level. Restore tests, specific RTO/RPO, and major upgrades are explicitly agreed where required.
At WZ-IT, Proxmox maintenance, Proxmox management, and Managed Proxmox lead to the same ongoing operations service. It starts at €179.90 net per node and month. The calculator on the Managed Proxmox page provides a non-binding guide price; clusters, Ceph, recovery objectives, and the condition of an existing environment are reviewed technically.
Update frequency and maintenance windows are agreed for the environment. Regular PVE, kernel, and package updates follow that schedule. For critical vulnerabilities, we assess exposure, available mitigations, and operational risk, then prioritise a suitable patch or mitigation path.
Major upgrades are technically assessed in advance and confirmed as a separate scope. We record dependencies, review the backup and rollback path, and check the compatibility of Ceph, PBS, and other components. The process and possible interruptions depend on architecture, capacity, and workloads.
We assess the specific exposure, available patches or mitigations, and operational risk. Any required change is prioritised, coordinated, and documented through the agreed change and escalation path; the response target and further incident work follow the service level.
Relevant incidents receive a technical initial response according to the agreed service level. We assess the alert, initiate the agreed actions, and coordinate other parties such as the hardware or infrastructure provider where required. The scope of subsequent remediation follows the contract.
No. Proxmox VE is open source and can be operated without an enterprise subscription. A subscription adds the enterprise repository and, depending on tier, vendor support. Our managed operations do not replace that vendor service; they cover the ongoing operation of your environment.
We monitor CPU, RAM, disk I/O, network, RAID/ZFS status, Ceph health, VM status, and cluster quorum around the clock. We respond proactively to relevant anomalies according to the agreed service level.
Maintenance mode supports planned work on HA cluster nodes. Whether guests can be live-migrated and continue without interruption depends on storage, networking, remaining capacity, and the individual workload. We assess these prerequisites when planning the maintenance window.
