Why WZ-IT
Why SMEs have us build their software
You get software that you own, on infrastructure that you control - with calculable costs instead of monthly rising license fees.
Fixed price instead of per-seat licensing
You pay once for software that you own - not every month per user to a SaaS vendor. No license costs that climb with every new employee. For GDPR and NIS2 requirements
Data protection and compliance are built in from the start: documented access, audit trails, data processing in the EU. Designed for critical-infrastructure and supplier requirements too.EU hosting instead of US cloud
We run your software on Proxmox, Hetzner or your own infrastructure in European data centers - without data leaving to US hyperscalers and without exchange-rate risk.No vendor lock-in
We build on open source and open standards. You receive the source code and the documentation - and can take over operations yourself or change provider at any time.Software and infrastructure from one team
Code, data, network and operations are designed together. You do not need a second provider for hosting - development and managed operations come from the same team.Predictable and reliable
A fixed point of contact, clear releases, calculable costs. We deliver in iterative steps so you see a usable result early instead of a big-bang after a year.
Sovereignty & hosting
Your software runs where you keep control
We host your application on European infrastructure - on Proxmox in your own data center, at Hetzner or another EU provider. Data location, subprocessors and required external services are documented for the specific architecture.
EU data residency
Processing and storage in European data centers, documented to GDPR.
Operations included
Optional managed operations: monitoring, patches and CVE response by the same team.
Open standards
Open-source stack, source-code handover and documented architecture - takeover at any time.
If you are on a US cloud today, we also handle the move - software development and migration from one team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions
- We start with a scoping sprint to clarify goal, scope and interfaces. On that basis you receive a binding fixed price - predictable instead of usage-based license fees. We agree the concrete scope individually with you, depending on feature set, integrations and operating model.
- For clearly defined projects we work at a fixed price after a scoping sprint: you get cost certainty and a defined result. For open, research-heavy topics or ongoing development, time-and-material is more flexible. We often recommend a fixed price for the first usable release and a maintenance or development budget afterwards.
- Where a standard solution fits your processes well, we advise buying it - custom software is not worth it for standard tasks. Custom development pays off when standard software forces you into workarounds, causes high per-seat license costs or lacks a feature that drives your competitive edge. We clarify this make-or-buy question together in the workshop, with an open outcome.
- First a scoping sprint where we capture goal, users and interfaces and draft a lightweight specification. From this we derive architecture and a fixed price. We deliver in iterative releases so you test a usable result early rather than after a year. At the end you receive source code, documentation and, on request, managed operations.
- Your software runs by default in European data centers or on your own Proxmox infrastructure - privacy-focused and NIS2 ready. No data flows to US hyperscalers. Access is logged, audit trails are standard, and we consistently use open-source components without opaque data transfers.
- Yes. We deliberately deliver in small, usable steps so that smaller companies with a modest budget can start too - for example with a clearly scoped first release. You see the value early and decide on expansion afterwards, instead of committing a large budget upfront.

Software projects with reliable outcomes
Proof for modernization, API extension, architecture, deployment and ongoing operations.
WZ-IT moved our studio infrastructure from decentralised individual devices to a central platform: every site is securely connected via VPN, new devices are onboarded automatically and an entire site is provisioned from a template, without manual steps on location. What impressed me most is the breadth and depth of their knowledge: Timo and Robin are not a typical IT provider who sets up a server and leaves. The two of them think their way into highly complex infrastructure and software topics, work through every requirement we put in front of them, and build networking, provisioning and operations so that everything fits together in the end. WZ-IT is an excellent partner for complex software, network and architecture projects.

WZ-IT's advice on our Azure migration was technically sound and completely non-binding right from the intro call - we took away a great deal.
