Acer Veriton GN100 is a compact GB10 workstation with 128 GB of unified memory and DGX OS. Acer targets local model work, inference, and scalable AI workloads. For businesses, its local storage, 10 GbE, and ConnectX-7 are particularly relevant. Hardware alone does not define user access, data handling, or operations.
What is specific to GN100
Acer offers up to 4 TB of self-encrypting NVMe storage. Four USB-C ports, HDMI, 10 GbE, Wi-Fi 7, and ConnectX-7 support both workstation and network operation. Software images and dependencies must support ARM64.
Acer describes both a direct two-system link and expansion to four GN100 systems through a suitable RoCE switch. This supports a growth path but does not make a single device or inference endpoint highly available.
Configure it for production
A controlled setup includes documented firmware, DGX OS, and driver versions; named administrators and SSH keys; fixed network, DNS, TLS, and firewall rules; a tested runtime and model; Open WebUI with groups and model permissions; external backup; monitoring; and documented update and support procedures.
Evaluate storage and scaling
A 4 TB SSD provides more headroom for model variants and local documents than smaller configurations. Backup and archives still belong on an independent target. With multiple systems, the architecture must decide whether each node serves its own model or one model is distributed.
Request distribution is usually simpler for serving many employees. Distributed inference is relevant for one model that does not fit comfortably on a node. These approaches need different software and testing. See the GB10 cluster guide.
When Acer GN100 is a good fit
GN100 is particularly interesting where 4 TB of local storage and a vendor-described path to several compact nodes are useful. One device suits a defined internal model and knowledge workload. Multiple nodes alone do not provide business-critical high availability.
Before selection, estimate model artefacts, document volume, backup target, and user load. A small team may not use the clustering capability at first. Where several departments or larger models are expected, network and operating architecture can be prepared for expansion from the outset.
Complete platform instead of components
The AI Cube Pro adds Open WebUI, local runtime, an agreed model, hardening, functional testing, initial setup, and five hours of support to this hardware class. Users receive one interface for chat, models, and personal or shared knowledge spaces. Connections to Nextcloud, SharePoint, a DMS, or business applications can be implemented separately.
Where several nodes, rack mounting, redundant power, or specific availability are required, WZ-IT plans the larger AI Cube Custom architecture.
