Configure MSI EdgeXpert as a secure AI platform for employees? WZ-IT adds Open WebUI, a local model, hardening, integration, and optional operations to the hardware and NVIDIA stack. Explore the AI Cube Pro
MSI EdgeXpert is a compact GB10 computer for local AI development, inference, and edge applications. It provides 128 GB of unified memory, DGX OS, 10 GbE, and ConnectX-7. MSI also positions EdgeXpert for regulated and agentic workloads. Businesses should distinguish hardware certification, NVIDIA software, and the application actually being operated.
Hardware and certification
MSI documents 1 TB and 4 TB NVMe variants, up to 1 PFLOP FP4, and models up to 200 billion parameters on one system. In March 2026, MSI announced NVIDIA-Certified System status and support for NVIDIA AI Enterprise.
Hardware certification does not make a particular AI application secure or compliant by itself. User permissions, data sources, model endpoints, logging, backup, and administrative access remain part of the deployment architecture.
Open-source or enterprise stack
Several operating models are possible on EdgeXpert: Open WebUI with an open-source local runtime and model; NVIDIA components for inference and development; NVIDIA AI Enterprise where its licence and support model are needed; or a hybrid platform with local and explicitly approved cloud models.
The decision depends on the application, support requirement, internal skills, and regulatory setting rather than the hardware name alone.
Setup for employees
WZ-IT documents and updates DGX OS, drivers, and runtime; configures named administrators and network rules; and deploys Open WebUI with TLS, groups, and model permissions. An agreed model is tested for quality, context, latency, and concurrency.
Chat data, knowledge spaces, and configuration use persistent storage and external backup. Monitoring covers resources, services, storage, and model endpoints. Home and branch access can use controlled VPN or NetBird connectivity.
When MSI EdgeXpert fits
EdgeXpert is particularly relevant where an NVIDIA-certified GB10 platform or the option of NVIDIA AI Enterprise is part of procurement. Organisations should establish whether the commercial software is actually required or whether an open stack with Open WebUI and a local runtime fits better.
Certification may support approval and vendor support processes for edge and agent projects. For an internal knowledge assistant, user experience, data sources, and permissions usually matter more. The hardware choice should therefore follow the operating model rather than define it.
AI Cube Pro or custom deployment
The AI Cube Pro provides the compact entry with hardware, Open WebUI, runtime, a local model, hardening, functional testing, initial setup, and five hours of support. NVIDIA AI Enterprise, multi-node clusters, specialised edge integration, or stricter availability become a custom project scope.
Our ConnectX-7 cluster guide distinguishes serving more requests from distributing one larger model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions
EdgeXpert combines GB10, 128 GB of unified memory, and DGX OS for local inference, development, and edge AI. Employee use requires an interface, permissions, data handling, and operations.
MSI announced NVIDIA-Certified System status and NVIDIA AI Enterprise support in March 2026. Licence, support scope, and value need separate assessment for each deployment.
MSI documents variants with 1 TB or 4 TB self-encrypting NVMe storage. Specific availability depends on SKU and region.
Yes. ConnectX-7 supports high-speed cluster links. MSI also describes multi-node configurations; runtime, switching, and operations must be designed for the intended workload.
